“Blue” (2006-2009)

The mood of creating can be strongly influenced by its colors. An old friend Louise Thomas, co-titled Vernon Payne's “Blue Period” (2006-2009) from his mixed media paintings and drawings. Blue was chosen deliberately — it signified an enlightenment — a clarified mental perception of overcoming art from decoration into art as self reflection. Blue represented the deep cold rejection of Vernon's previous art period; "deco". The collection of the work could be found in Vernon Payne's book titled; "blue" co-titled by Louise Thomas, launching the summer of 2014.
